Hi
I'm facing an issue when trying to backtest in MetaTrader 4. I receive an error message that there is no tick history. I know that MetaTrader can automatically download tick data for the specified time period if it is not already available, but for some reason, it is no longer downloading the data and instead gives me the "no tick history" error.
When I download the data using a tick history downloader software, MetaTrader cannot read it. It seems like the file is unrecognized by MetaTrader. Sometimes, if I change the file's properties in Windows to "read-only," the backtest will run, but sometimes the tick data file is deleted, and MetaTrader starts downloading the tick data again.
I would appreciate any help or advice on how to resolve this issue.
