Charts are not opening.

Hey everyone, I am new to trading and I've decided to pick MT5 to conduct trading activities on. However, after downloading the platform on my Macbook, no charts seem to appear and I can't get it to work. It only shows a black screen with the name of the pair in a green font. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried making an account and logging into it but it still doesn't work.
1- try to connect to a broker. this needs an active account on a broker (even a demo account)
2- check if that symbol exists in your broker symbol list. some times broker symbols has a prefix/suffix.
