- MT4 in Portable mode only allow history from server back to 2012.....but in normal mode is goes back to 2009

I use portable mode and I have easily copied between different computers without any issues.
And yes, the password credentials will get reset as a security measure when copying over to a different computer, and that is expected behaviour.
I do not remember about the Webrequest URLs, as I do not use that.
To resolve the issue, just re-input the password and URL values (and connect to the desired account), on the first use, and then ...
... close MetaTrader and recopy the chart profiles again. When you reopen MetaTrader everything will be restored as normal.

If you have licensed EAs based on account number, you will loose the license since a new metaquotes account will be created. How the EA behaves in these cases differes, but most remove themselfes from charts. Some EAs close the trades if webrequests don't work, so I will then have to move the installation at specific times, this is costing money and time since I've had positioned closed that where not supposed to be closed.
So if we could keep the webrequests URLs and instead of just getting a new metaquotes account automatically we would just get the login window when the terminal is opened once moved things would actually be usuable.
