Not, when using normal plot styles. You can probably do it with graphical objects, but I would not consider that ideal (but that is my own opinion).
I agree, this would definitely not be ideal. Not to mention very difficult to keep the alignment up to date as the chart progresses or is resized.

Yes! Unfortunately the plot styles do not offer any kind of "hollow" candles. You will have to rely on filled colours to differentiate between bull and bear candles.
