Where are the rules for this forum?

Good morning

I would like to know the rules that govern posts on this site.

In my posts, can I put links to my blog which is outside the Mql5.com domain, for example?

Can I use a signature that contains my blog URL on my posts?

Can I provide links to my codes that would be hosted elsewhere than on Mql5.com?

I do not think it is possible. Because the promotion the external resources is prohibited on the forum.
I mean: it is prohibited to use this MQL5 forum to promote some other resources and some other signal services which are not connected to this MQL5 portal in anyway.

Short explanation: many (almost all) the coders are having their own websites and so on but no one is promoting them here because we (moderators) are banning them for that.

There are some cases where I need clarification: 

1. If I had a YouTube channel where I explain how to use mql5 functions, could I mention it on mql5.com or in a group chat?

2. As you said many coders have own websites and they list it in their profile. 

Are these exceptions because it sounds contradictory. Or are there just different rules for profile and group chats than for the forum.

You can advertise on your own profile, "wall", blogs, channels or group chats.

You cannot advertise on other users' profiles, "walls", blogs,  channels or group chats (unless they expressly allow it).

You cannot advertise on the forum or CodeBase.

For 1 if it were yours then i imagine it would have to be supplemental to what you have written . 

For instance you write up the actual tip or solution and you supply the video as an extra . With blogs on this website it is allowed (posting a link to your blog with a solution) but probably because its on this website. That does not translate as find a thread with a question , write up a blog and post the link however.

But it can be seen as an advertisement . Even if your video is actually helpful and 100% on point ,sharing it will most likely be evaluated on the motivation behind it .

The best place (bottom line wise) for this is the articles . If you post an article and supply a video version for it you will "ride" mq's decent SEO for that section (which is better than the forum's SEO).

In the forum you can just reply in text (because the reply text is indexed) and if someone is looking for something specific comes here and finds your reply they may follow through to your profile where you have whatever you want to have .
