Broker without MT5 and copying EA trades into different platform
donking24: Question regarding copying EA trades from MT5 into different platform - does anyone try that? I would like to have an account within a broker who unfortunately does not support MT5 - is it still possible to use EA on MT5 - demo or whatever different account and keep it running on different platform? Does anyone has an experience with that? Same question re MT5 EA copying trades into MT4 - i.e. I have EA only on MT5 but there is a broker supporting only MT4. Would be grateful for all the hints.
It is indirectly possible, but it is usually a bad ideia.
Different platforms work differently, and in most cases, the brokers can be different and therefore the data feeds and liquidity providers are different.
The end result will be that the strategy/EA can misbehave, suffer slippage, incorrectly adjust for risk, etc. It's not ideal.
The best is to use a program that is specifically programmed for the platform and with parameters specific for the trading conditions.
