mt5 not connecting on public wifi

i cannot get my mt5 to connect to any server when I am away from home and using a public library wifi in england. the little circle [bottom right] rotates endlessly. i have no problem connecting all other applications to this wifi [browsers, email etc] but still mt5 will not play ball. i have tried all the usual procedures, close mt5, restart, shut down pc, restart, blah,blah etc. some suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks, rp

That public library's wifi is probably blocking certain protocols or ip address ranges, which MetaTrader is dependent on.

You should not deal with any software requiring some security on a public network.
