open buy and sell order at the same price

Hi, I'd like to know if open market order buy and sell at the same time with the same price (e.g candle open price) is possible?

Luandre Ezra: Hi, I'd like to know if open market order buy and sell at the same time with the same price (e.g candle open price) is possible?

Usually, not possible because Ask and Bid prices are different due to Spread.

A Buy order opens at the Ask price and a Sell opens at the Bid price.

If you use pending orders (BuyStop and SellLimit) you can get the same price but not the same time.

So in the case when people say that they hedge, there's always a difference price between buy order and sell order because of spread, is this correct?

Luandre Ezra #: So in the case when people say that they hedge, there's always a difference price between buy order and sell order because of spread, is this correct?

Yes, correct, when using Market orders! However some brokers offer accounts with zero spread, but they always apply commission in those cases, so the net effect will be the same.

There will always be a transaction cost, be it as a spread, or as commission or both.

Also please note that true hedging is done on different symbols. "Hedging" on the same symbol (sometimes called "nedging") is just a waste of trading costs.

That is why "nedging", grids, and martingale will never amount to anything. There will always be someone claiming that they work, but they will be people who are ignorant or don't the understand the maths, or who are scammers.

True Hedging on different symbols is a well known way of diversifying, but stay away from "nedging", grids, and martingale.

place a sell order at the high of the candle and place a buy order at the low of the candle at symbol us30 in mt5ç

Niramaya #: place a sell order at the high of the candle and place a buy order at the low of the candle at symbol us30 in mt5ç

That is not at the same price or the same time.

Yeah but Even if they were at the same price and no spread, how about latency, lets remember opening an order is sending a http/ https request to a server

I think you are right.
