The philosophy of algotrading - page 14

Реter Konow:

Interesting... I've never heard of such an advisor.

What algorithms do you think it uses?

I don't know.

it's about 1k lines and you have to figure it out

the source code is freely available

Yousufkhodja Sultonov:

1. Quite right. Now technical analysis covers half of the information, because the other half, in the form of market price, is hidden from the eye of the observer.

2. Observations have shown that it is the influence of the virtual market price that changes the trend direction.

3. As for the creation of smart robots, it can be said that they have all their intelligence in the algorithm, outside or beyond which they cannot get clever. Unless, for example, a series of conditional transitions to try to introduce additional logic of behaviour depending on the market situation. In the meantime, it turned out to be sufficient to take into account the relationship or interaction of the MAC and IDA, respectively, of the average price and the market price.

1. So, in the development of algotrading it is necessary to strive for expansion of the analyzed information? To increase the data under study?

2. Tell us more about these observations. How did you reach this conclusion?

3. Of course, robots have limited algorithms, and they can not function without them. Also, modern robots cannot create their own algorithms.

And how do you imagine by a series of conditional transitions to introduce additional logic to the program?

Where do you get the information that the robot does not leak? Do you have any statistics?

I have it on my computer, maybe when I get around to taking it apart, for obvious reasons I won't post such codes on this forum

Right. But can you at least tell me how big it is?

Реter Konow:
I see. But can you tell me what size it is at least?
(44,602 bytes)

trader781:
(44,602 bytes)
44 kilobytes? Or 44 megabytes? Maybe you got it wrong.

Yousufkhodja Sultonov:

Stanislav Lem, in his popular scientific work "The Sum of Technologies", predicted the emergence of"social homeostats" - an artificial intelligence controlling the state system. Its task should be to replace humans in the solution of social problems in order to balance the state system as effectively as possible.

I think that in the future mankind will come to this, and the way will begin precisely with algotrading.

Here is a quote from a chapter in the book which may be interesting in the light of our previous discussion on the morality of trading:

//---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

" The introduction of cybernetic automation raises some rather unexpected moral issues. Stafford Beer3, one of the pioneers in the field of cybernetics of large capitalist enterprises, postulated the possibility of creating a "homeostat firm" and examined the theory of regulation of a large steel production facility as an example. The "brain" of such a company must so optimise all the processes that make up the steel production that production will be most productive, efficient and independent of both supply (labour, ore, coal, etc) and demand variations, as well as of internal and external factors that affect the production process. According to Beer's ideas, such a production unit should be an ultra-stable homeostat, which immediately reacts to any deviation from equilibrium by a change in internal organisation and thus returns to equilibrium. Specialist opponents to whom this theoretical model was presented pointed out that it lacked "religion". Bier deliberately modelled this homoeostat enterprise on the action of a living organism. But in nature, the only criterion of an organism's "value" is essentially its ability to survive at any cost. In other words, on occasion also at the cost of devouring other organisms. The naturalist, understanding that in Nature there is no "system of moral evaluation", does not consider the behaviour of hungry predators as immoral. Thus, the question arises: "can", i.e. "has the right", an "organism-predator" in case of need "devour" its competitors? There are many such questions; though perhaps not so acute. What should such a homeostatic enterprise strive for - maximum productivity or maximum profit? What if, in the course of time, inevitable technological shifts make steel production unnecessary? Should the survival drive built into the brains of the system lead to its complete reorganisation, so that it transforms itself, for example, into a plastics producer? What should guide such a system in such a complete restructuring - the degree of maximum social utility? Or again, by the size of the profit? Bier avoids answering such questions. He says that above the "brain" of the company is the owners' supervisory board, which makes the most general and important decisions. The "brain" is only called upon to optimally implement these decisions. Weir thus renounces the "autonomous-organism principle" that is part of his concept and puts all moral issues outside the "black box": //--------------------------------------------------------------------------The entire chapter is here: http://lib.ru/LEM/summa/summgl4g.htm
