That's what I'm talking about - _movement_ but not a trend.

Think logically:

1. You say there is no trend.

2. Hence you have never seen a trend.

3.Then how do you know that "but not a trend."?

4. Your systems are trend following, but you don't use a trend - generally a song.

I have already described (with many letters) what, in my opinion, a trend is and what properties it should have.

But in the market these phenomena, even if they exist (I think they do exist), they are not used for the trend following systems, for example. As a matter of fact, I have only heard of one trader who probably really traded the trend itself. Livermore was his last name. :)
