Avalanche is the same as Ilan - there is an accumulation and averaging of openings.
Chumbley works on a different principle (the approximate logic is described in the post above) - it opens with an increased lot based on closing results.
There are variations, but in principle there are two algorithms: a) Ilan=Lavina and b) Martin=Nevalyashka.
There may be other names.
Not really. Averaging is used in Ilan: at a losing position, enter in the same direction at a better price with a bigger lot (averaging Martin). Large drawdowns in Ilan are obtained when there is a prolonged small reversal trend in the market.
In Lavina, in case of a losing position, enter in the opposite direction with a larger lot (U-turn martin). Avalanche has larger drawdowns when the market has a long sideways trend with a small amplitude. Particularly high drawdowns are obtained when there is a diverging channel or a diverging triangle, if a fixed corridor is used for setting orders.
