Britain violates basic principles of democracy
And where are the liberal cries about British citizens' rights being violated...
Or are the scoundrels there allowed to do anything
Hey, there was actually an article about fractals and the Mandelbrot set!
Britain is violating the basic principles of democracy
And where are the liberal cries about British citizens' rights being violated...
Or are the scoundrels there allowed to do anything
Unlike the fantasies we have drummed into our heads, the British clearly understand the meaning of the word "democracy" and act according to its exact meaning.
To the ancient Greeks.
Demos is the people, and democracy is the power of the people.
But the population of Ancient Greece consisted of demos (people) and ochlos (mobs), who did not have any rights. The cities-states of Ancient Greece were ruled by a narrow circle of persons, who constituted this very "people". And the content of their governing efforts was the management of the ochlos.
In Britain, they act precisely in accordance with this meaning of the word. No one is going to audition the Queen, the Lords and other Eton graduates, or maybe even Cambridge and Oxford graduates.
So all is well in the western kingdom. It's our heads that are a mess from identifying ourselves as "the people". Ochlos we all are and we need to know our place in a society of social inequality.
Rocket scientists ........
