Iron tips - page 11

The article you cited ("choosing a CPU for gaming") compares performance in games, and there is often only 1 core involved. Therefore, the CPU with the higher frequency of one core wins. Who needs an efficient multi-core combine, and who needs peak performance in a game or in a specific application.

1 station with i7 980X: 40000 + 7000(average MB under LGA1366) + 1500(PSU) + 2000(VIDEO) + 2000(RAM) + 1000(box) = 52500 rubles.

1 station with AMD 1090T: 9000+4000(medium size MB under AM3) + 7500 = 20500 roubles.

HDD is not taken into account. I understand that 1Tb on Intel and 300Gb on AMD 3 stations doesn't make any difference.

Yes, really not 3 stations but 2.5.

And if you are going to mount it in a rack, you will have to build the farm with 6 cores only.

Wowhttp://www.apple.com/ru/macpro/features/processor.html 12 cores .

But that's for the future ))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

It would be easier to buy 3 machines with 4 cores :)

Interesting:
It'll be easier to buy three 4-core machines :)

Or 12 fourth stumps :o)

And when the 100 core comes up where will you get the stumps?

And when 100 cores will appear where will you get them on stumps?

Why 12 stumps?

Firstly, 4-core computers are quite available now. You can gradually build up a "fleet" of PCs.

Secondly, 3 computers are much more reliable than one.

Thirdly, I'm sure they'll cost less than a 12 core CPU.

PS

About possibility to buy 2 CPUs on a motherboard right now, though with such an arrangement the total number of cores would be 24...

Предлагаю опубликовать результаты тестирования MACD Sample с параметрами по умолчанию на истории 2010.

If you take the best processor according to those tests, it alone would cost 10-13K roubles.

You can choose an affordable one from the best ones. It seems that AMD has shown itself to be quite good.

AMD is always good, especially if you look at the price...

The video of A. Gerchik's speech is interesting. And at minute 72 (who is too lazy to watch from the beginning to the end) he raises the question of iron for trading. I advise to watch it.
