it uses 1:500 leverage, but the account on the broker im using is using leverage 1:30

how can i make sure i dont get any leverage/margin call issues? is there a way to copy the signal correctly?

You can calculate future possible lot size for you by yourself -
read this thread with examples:

Leverage is one of the 2 factors that define copying ratio, the other 2 are balance and currency.

Since your leverage is much smaller than the signal provider's your copying ratio will be such, that your lot size will not cause any margin calls easily.
