Unable to send message to vendor

Hello,
I purchased a product but unable to get it working properly. The vendor request logs and screenshots.
When I try to send a message to the vendor I get.
"Add the user as a friend. You can see activity of your friends on the website and communicate with them easily."
then the add user button forwards me back to your user account and same send message again.

Go to the profile page of the use and click the + Add to Friends button there.
There is no add to friends button
Okay he must have added me. Alls well now.
