Is your VPS supplied by Metatrader, or a third party Windows Server VPS?
When you say 'close the application' - are you saying you close the VPS and disconnect from it? Or are you saying you are closing the MT4 terminal where your EA is?
Autotrading is always ON in MQL5 VPS.
And because of that you local Metatrader should have autotrading OFF after sucessful synchronization/migration (because EA should trade on VPS, and not on your local computer).
Make sure you synchronized your chart(s) with EA(s) attached with MQL5 VPS (you can check the result of synchronization/migration in MQL5 journal).
And check the subscription/setup procedure once again: post #4

Hello,
My EA only seems to run when my terminal is open on my computer. It does not seem to run on VPS even though Auto Trading on, Smily face in corner, and all settings show correct.
The journal says:
Virtual Hosting started
Automated Trading Enabled
then once I close the application and leave it for a while it shows
ping failed
datacenter connecting failed
until I manually open the terminal again.
If anyone has experienced this issue and can give me some guidance I would really appreciate it.
