Can't install MT4

Hi, I want to install MT4 so I click "MT4 download" and it gives me "mt4setup.exe" as expected but running this installs MT5. Any ideas anyone? Thanks

It has been years since you could download MT4 from Metaquotes. You can only get it from a broker's website.

Thank you! Apologies for the duplication. First time using this and was already quite frustrated. Perhaps if the MT website had a simple message explaining the situation instead of a button which reads "Download MetaTrader 4 for PC and create a demo account" then were wouldn't be 100+ messages on the subject.

Agreed! I just started a thread with the same question, having scanned the general section and seen no threads on the topic. @William, I get that it can be infuriating to get the same questions from us noobs, but to be honest, the website is uninformative (as Tokyo Firebase says) and this forum is not as clean and easy to navigate as others. Getting snarky at us is unhelpful, and just makes me feel like this is a hostile community. And so the frustration and dissatisfaction spreads further, rather than being extinguished.
