Low volatility : how do you filters signals in your EA ? - page 2

@oddpip : absolutely, but MA crossing gives a lot of false signals. I have to filter it. And volatility seems to be the more relevant.

Volatility is not directional so it can't be a good signal but just a prerequisite.
False signal is the result of an insufficient rule set.

Which directionnal one would you suggest ?

I like and use relevant price movements, like momentum, trend, etc. This don't means that it is suitable for you.

You should try different strategies and see which gives you the best results.

i think low volatility is not an issue.

when it is low, it is looking for a direction to explode

so you gotta bet on the correct direction

This problem could be solved with an indicator that is monitoring volume of trades or simular factor. In the result you can define a new condition on your EA , ... if there is low volume it willl just stop trade.

Another question is on what is constructed your EA. You should think about some condition that will define when to trade or not. Sth. like There must be 4 candles after crosing the MA to open an order to confirm the signal (just an example) etc.
