Files Type for MT5

Hi,

I am trying to install my first custom indicator.  Does the file type in this link work for Metatrader 5?  I have followed instructions on how to add the custom indicator, but it doesn't show...

As it is [...].ex4 files so it is for Metatrader 4  (MT4).

Ok thank you. So i should uninstall MT5 and install MT4?

If it is for MT4 (with indicators and template) so use MT4 (MT4 only).

I only installed metatrader for the first time today and so I thought to install MT5.  Now I have uninstalled MT5 and I have tried to install MT4.  But it seems to take me back to MT5 and just installs that.  Can you help

If you want to install MT4 so you should download installer and inst all it from the broker.
There are a lot of brokers proposing MT4 (use google for that), but we can not suggest any broker to use (because the selection of the broker should be your risk and your decision).
