What is the consensus about copying signals .vs. renting ea?  Or algo copy versus human  copy trading?   Plus theres private copy traders outside mql5 charge more some dont show stats, have shills in the chat forum, etc.  Be weary of the..

There would never be consensus because we are all different. Some ea's have a manual component, as do signal providers. Others are totally automated...it depends what you are looking for.
With fees, it's helpful to figure out how much you need to earn % to cover costs....buyer beware...
