Should I jump on into mql 5 or remaining in mql 4?

mql5 is programming language for MT5, and mql4 is programming language for MT4.
As I understand - you talking about MT4 and MT5.

My advice is you should continue programming with python for your robots and use a bridge to Metatrader terminal

i would go straight to mql5 since mt4 is no longer supported.
