Is it possible to reverse-engineer a expert advisor?

To be clearer, If I gave a developer the expert advisor file can he/she remaster it for a newer version of MT?

Just have some thoughts for the future. Thanks

Do the Dev's have a forum of their own that they answer questions like this?

I am looking for someone to build an EA that will pull data from a website and execute trades and orders as well as close them based on when they are closed.  JSON or XML likely needed but screen scrapers may work as well.  It will need to have the ability to change web extensions.     Thank you I need to create a indicator to function like...

Thanks Lip. I'm looking into something being done in the future, down the road. Hard to find someone that seems serious since the dev's ranking system is too vague and doesn't tell much. Kinda disconcerting when some of these devs take on numerous jobs at once. The arbitration score is kinda a issue too.

A developer can't do anything with EXn, you must give them the source code (MTn.) With that they can do anything - No need to "reverse-engineer."

Try a few mini projects to find out who's ok for you. Maybe it's easier to always work with the same coder if it comes to long-term projects.
