In the shops today, any laptop for all specs can run MT4 and it can works properly.
But at least with RAM 4GB will much better ^̮^
If you mean "Ideal" in terms that you favor a good balance of features and budget then thinkpad yoga p40 is my weapon of choice because not only is it very versatile, but these things are built rugged to handle all kinds of abuse (google thinkpad torture test). I also have the onelink dock which offers lag-free dual-monitor support which I have connected to two 27" monitors (one in portrait for text-editor).
