Some of these ransomwares were able to crawl through the whole local network infecting one pc after the other before it starts to encrypt everything. If a vps provider has left open some holes or has a root access to all vps he manages (most of them kept a pwd for that, may be it's common for all) ...?

Hi,

We really do not know for certain and Metaquotes should be enlightening but they are not. 
The assumption here is each virtual server is a separate image requiring partitioned hard drive space and a new OS install (probably Linux based on the pricing) with a unique security group.
If this is the case then they do not share passwords.
