I just receive an email from my broker notifying me about it. My broker is going to lower down my trading leverage from 1:500 to 1:50

The French presidential election is coming up. I just receive an email from my broker notifying me about it...
I just got a reply back from my broker saying that they don't allow me to opt-out of the low leverage "protection scheme".
It looks like they don't want people with high leverage to make money during this French election's price volatility.
