I cannot get from a demo account to live account in MT 4.  I have used the same password for the demo acc. and still cannot switch to live.

1. Please check your broker server, whether still used or not.

2. the contents of your username and trading password, in accordance with the given

3. make sure your meta trader is in a state that has been updated

4. make sure you have an internet connection.

Contact your broker, you probably mistaken your login credentials.
