There are 2 threads in the EA files section on the Profit Generator from holyguy, but there seems to be a third thread buried somewhere else. There is a link to it in one of the other threads, but I cannot get to it elsewhere. It's the longest thread but seems to have petered out.

I'm starting a new thread as I have a question about it and hope that it might garner more attention here.

I've been backtesting this EA for long time periods and it's very impressive.

I cannot get it to work on a demo. I have 3 different MT platforms on 2 different PCs running the EA. I'm using the presets that were uploaded on 15M bars. No trades on any of the platforms for the last 3 days.

I'm not a newbie to EA's, the MT settings are correct and other EAs are running fine. Using 2 different IBFX accounts and one Crown FX.

In the aforementioned mystery thread others had also mentioned problems in getting this to run.

This appears to be a terrific EA- it's very frustrating not to be able to demo it.

Attached is the latest EA and PDF file.

Any help appreciated.

There are 2 places to check autotrading:

- options in Metatrader;

- EA's properties (EA's settings) https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/173795

May be, you checked first place and did not the second one.

Check the journal (trade, news, journal, and so on) and others in MetaTrader for possible errors.

I did not test this EA but many people tested it with no problem.

If you are testing on demo so create some crazy settings and attach EA to GBPJPY M1 timeframe just to see it trades or not. Because sometimes 2 or 3 days without trades is very normal thing.

All MT settings are correct, journal indiicates expert loaded okay.

Will try GPBUSD on 1M as suggested.

Several days without a trades seems unusual given the strategy of this EA...

For M1 you should reduce value LongBar(by default =15) or use larger TimeFrame, because of a condition Hi - Lo > LongBar*point.

 

EA Mod ?

Is there any chance that someone could modify the "Longbar" setting to use an ATR instead of a fixed number?
