AZBOfin, bertbin: Maybe you should both submit detailed statements so we can find out what was going on.
Edit: right click the account history, save as detailed report. Then upload the file(s).
If you download the MT4 platform from metaquotes.net and install their MIG demo, when you go into Tools, History Center, choose your pair and hit download on the bottom left corner it will download every timeframe for the pair from 1999 till Sept 06.
I notice none of my other MT4 platforms have this option.
Then I close the history center and open a chart. Once I choose refresh it seems to fill in any missing information.
GLThat isn't quite true. It is a feature in MQ build 199 which has just been released. http://forum.mql4.com/4751
It should now be available for all brokers. To keep your existing account and broker information, install a new copy on top of your existing installation.
In several days the new client will be officially released, and we can just update using LiveUpdate.

don't understand why my results are so much different from bertbin's.
just for the heck of it - here's my settings, copied directlly from the EA source code plus i am using MT4.00 build 198. for the server connection string i am the default given by the trading platform.

After doing some backtesting between the various modes, I still believe the "classic mode 1" has the best results.
The best results I had from Mode 2 was to close after 26hrs but the results were still less then just trading 2 lots with classic mode 1.
This test was done using usd/yen only. Not sure how the results of other pairs would be.
As for when to start trading, most servers also shut down over the weekend, so I believe one just needs to startup the EA also on a weekly basis and let it run through the week and close it at the end of the week.
AZBOfin, this may save you some hassle.
IBFX, FXSOL and FXDD should all have the same data, since they all use the same Dealing Desk, Forex Liquidity LLC. http://www.nfa.futures.org/basicnet/Details.aspx?entityid=0196740&rn=Y
So there may not be any difference at all between IBFX and FXDD.good info, thanks.
however, IMO it was pure coincidence that both IBFX and FXDD returned the same results. another EA i am testing returned profits for the IBFX account whereas FXDD returned a loss (same pair, same settings).

The starting times were slightly different to start off with. Since AZBOfin had an open BUY trade starting on 2006.11.05 23:30, the account was not adding any additional USDJPY trades until all closed at 2006.11.07 04:45. During the same time, bertbin had a SELL signal that closed at a profit. This sort of pattern continues the entire time but you both did a BUY for profit at 2006.11.08 01:30. For some reason (probably the large number of trades open) bertbin only executed one signal. AZBOfin opened 3, and the last 2 trades closed a day later than the first one.

Basically you only had 1 trade signal in common, because AZBOfin was in trades longer.
