BTW I feel a bit disconcerting by the differences in running the same EA on the same pairs at the same time with the same settings and having results totally different

welcome to the wonderful world of forex, where 90% of traders loose their shirt and where the broker always wins.

do you mind posting a trading statement? i'd like to compare to my demo trades.

what are you're EA settings - standard or mini account?

from what i have seen/read it looks like FXDD's demo and live accounts are trading pretty close - not like IBFX.

The above is statement you request, I use mini account,I use Pheonix V5-5-01, my setting is mode1,3 = true.

after first trade of mode 1 close, EA sell usdjpy at 118.41 and mode 3 still floating profit, I decide to manual close mode 3 and leave new sell of mode 1 runing.

If EA give mode 1 buy I will decide to hold existing mode3(orders are same direction).

I'm also run NF demo forward test with mode3 defualt setting too.

Hendrick;

Phoenix is only opening on Velocity4x same as InterbankFX in Micro Lots now only 0.01 so if I input 0.03 still opening 0.01 on Mode (3) 3 trades cannot get it to open my choice in Micro Account like 0.05, 0.06 etc only 0.01.

Same problem as another Forum Member in post above #555

Hi hendrick! Do i need only set prefsetings=true or enter setings manal?

I am testing several sets of configurations:

Phoenix v5 mode 3 M15 USDJPY, GBPUSD, EURUSD, USDCHF with IBFX

Phoenix v5 mode 2 M15 USDJPY, GBPUSD, EURUSD, USDCHF with MIG

Phoenix v5 mode 1 H1 USDJPY, GBPUSD, EURUSD, USDCHF with MIG

Phoenix v5 mode 1 H1 USDJPY, GBPUSD, EURUSD, USDCHF with NF

All default settings, default risk, all 10k demo accounts, 16 happy faces

IBFX M15 opened short USDJPY

MIG M15 opened short USDJPY

MIG H1 no trades

MIG H1 no trades

I started opening trade windows about 11/06 09:45 GMT

Daraknor,

All default (internal) setting values were found during backtesting on the M15 TF.

While you are free to test any setup, it's highly unlikely that H1 will give you good results.

If you realy would like to forward test the H1 TF, you better disable internal settings and first find optimal values by using backtest on H1.

Good luck with testing.

Thanks for the reminder. I recalled both time frames being mentioned but I didn't remember which one was standard. There was a discussion about H1, but M15 is the timeframe Hendrick recommended. When I post results (since I might as well leave it running) I will make sure to include the fact I altered the chart time to a nonstandard value without any correction at all.

I have been thinking about making EA code (to be included by others) that would enable autoscaling, but scaling SL/TP is only half of the problem. Scaling indicators, money management, etc is also necessary. It would be idea if three traders could use the same EA and it would adjust automatically. A swing trader holding trades 15 min to 2-4 hours, 2-24 hours, 2-4 days, 10-20 days, 2-4 weeks, etc. The scaling provided by switching time frame does most of the hard work, it is all of the other code that is annoying. A Murrey Math based EA may be my first 'autoscaling' EA just as a proof of concept since MM handles the scaling of rules and indicators automatically. I just need to sense the right timeframe.

So, yes H1 is almost certainly wrong, but it is a learning experience for me too. I don't like the idea of needing to manually "reoptimize" every month to 4 months.

Jovager:
I have switched to 2 lots, but Phoenix4 opens always 1 lot (Interbank, mini)

What is the solution ?

Thanks in advance.

If MM is on, Phoenix will decide the size of the lots. If you want to use 2 lots, turn MM off (false).

phoenix

Hendrick,

I've just got back to phoenix now. I'm running it on demo for about a month with good results. I've started with phoenix v2_1 version.

Now I come back and I see another versions (up to vs. 5 already!) I've some questions to you...let's say I decide to run it...may I just anytime update version when I'm sure with it and replace old with new one?

The newest version...why does it run only on 5 pairs? Previous was using 8...was it worse?

Another question regarding settings...I've backtested that EA with the same settings and I've got the same (TO THE 1 PIP!!!!!) trades as listed at mql championship site in your results. Then I've ran this for past 2 years and EA totally sucked (huge drawdowns etc...) passed January 06. I think it's because of optimization...now the newest EA...is it optimized? How often should it be optimized? For what period? Should I ran optimization like in the end of each month for past 6 months period? Have dual processor here, will give it a try, just need to start somewhere.

Great system! Regards
