SMTP: localhost

Hey,

Anyone has ever communicate with MT4 with a localhost SMTP server?

here is the setting of the SMTP:

SMTP server: localhost:25

SMTP login, password:

From: some email

To: some email

it looks like the MT4 is not communicating with the local SMTP server, no messages received from MT4.

Anyone has any ideas?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thx.

...firewall?

Hey, Thx.

What is in logs?

Did you already try to send any message via your localhost SMTP for example by Outlook Express?

I use SMTP

Free SMTP Server

No problem.

Sorry, I am not following, could you please show your email settings in MT4?

Do the "From" and "To" email addresses matters?

May I know how did you test it? open up the SMTP server, then open up MT4, and they would communicate with each other?

Thanks a lot.

that's weird, I had the same setting as yours (except for the email addresses)

I don't have it success.

plus the SMTP server that you suggested, tells me "Mail: 555 This freeware lets you send not more than 10 messages a day", I think I need another one......

how about Mecury?

Thanks.

What a pity!

If you use WinXP, you can try Microsoft SMTP Service. It's free as well.

P.S. Check your firewall.
