ADX indicator? - page 13

mladen:
ADX should be re-thinked in order to be smoother. But I don't think that it can be done - tried pre-filtering, smoothing with much better smoothers than t3, this trick, that trick, and it always added lag. Maybe the solution is to use dmx (dmx is in many ways a smoother version of ADX without significant lag, but it has to be used in a little different way than adx)

Hello mladen, do you have a dmx indicator with popups that I could try?

Thank-you,

Darren

The versions I made were mostly posted in advanced section (like this one : https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/general )

You can find a couple of versions at this thread though : https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/173010

Thank-you mladen !

I will try them out tonight at home.

Don't want to at work, not ready to quit my job and trade full-time yet !

Ok, sounds good. I read something about DMI in the STAD club books, but had not much time. And now is football evening - Munich vs Porto and many goals.

DMI is different : the DMI they are referring to in STAD books is actually Wilders DMI (what we usually call just ADX). DMX was invented by Mark Jurik and is different in math

Dmx is better than ADX (at least from my experience). Much less false signals

I read a bit on Jurik's site, wow, and am a bit flashed but CFB and JMA are very interesting as well.

Mark Jurik has that thing - a bit of a snake oil sales Don't believe everything literally what he tells (he is a bit like John Ehlers regarding that part)

But all in all he has good ideas.

Realization is so, so (for example my version of cfb is about 100 x (times) shorter than his version - and they do the same job) and he has one shady episode (when he renamed Spearman rank correlation to something else - the JTPO) but he deserves attention

I hear that there are some problems with JMA. Is that true?

I know to good what you mean, but you see at first sight that he tells no rubbish. I mean, when you filter the phrases that his solution is best and so on, much potential stay. Of course, you need some attention. Most well-known people are often not that who had the best solution, but that who cried loudest or had the luck to be at the right time at the right place. Next month I take a look on your cfb indis
