How to develop indicators

If this post is off the subject please forgive - the whole area of digital filters interests me greatly. I have the dfm software (English version) downloaded from this forum. It's very good but there is no step-by-step info of how to use it. I know there are people (Simba and others) who have the knowledge of this and I'm hoping one of these will take a few minutes to share with me (and all others looking for education).

If this information is already posted somewhere, I must have missed it (I did read all the threads I could find, but may have missed a post somewhere). If it is already here somewhere just a link would be fine.

Thank you,

Lou G

Hi Lou,

Please feel free to ask any specific questions you might have and I will try to reply

Thanks Simba,

Assume I want to create a FATL/SATL for a timeframe/currency. Should I first run the appropriate .hst file through frequency analyzer to find the data needed for the p1 and d1 factors?

Given that the answer to the above is yes, which points should be chosen for the FATL/SATL indicators?

I'll probably have more questions about how to create the other indicator types but if you could point me in the right direction for the basic indicators it would be a real start in the right direction.

Thanks again for responding,

Lou G

Lou,

Please check the images ..

SATL dominant 46 days cycle..choose nxt bottom(40),nxt peak(34),next bottom(30)..create 3 satl(p1=46..d1=40,34,30) and visually check which one do you prefer..there really isn`t much difference..leave the attenuation as it is ,do not mess with it and leave delay at 0

FATL check the short periods..2 peaks 17 and 20 days..1 bottom 14 days..create the following 20/17..17/14..20/14..choose the one that fits better,in my opinion it is the Red one,ie 17/14..it turns in advance of the other 2 and is similarly smooth..but this is personal

Regards
