It's pretty well known that XXXX has agreed to sell its retail client base to YYYY. In addition, XXXX's [former] parent company ZZZZ is dropping its own use of MT4 and switching platforms to QQQQ.

If you have a real account, not a demo account, with XXXX, then they should have contacted you as soon as the deal was announced. Turning off demo accounts at two hours' notice isn't great, but that's because their priority - bearing in mind that most of these people are going to be unemployed very shortly - is sorting out their actual clients.
