To test  Only Shortor Longetc in MT5:

In the Strategy tester go to Tested symbol (the ICON next to the Time Frame), 

find the TRADE option and select what you need, LONG, SHORT etc. (default is FULL ACCESS)

I know this has been a while but thanks my man, couldn't have done it without you. Bless

It seem no solution to this problem.
MT5 does not provide Long_only/ Short_only options.

But if you create your own EA program, then you can add this option to the program you created.

User @syd_barret gave the answer, in Strategy tester click the Yellow Dollar $ Icon, next to TimeFrame (you pick M5, M15 etc...), then Find 'Trade'. Find the word "FULL ACCESS", click on that, the you will see the options.
