Import history problem MT4

Do you guys have the same problem?
When I download history data for a certain currency pair (txt or csv) I can't put them into MT4 history. When I go to Tools>History Center>Import>Browse - then select history file, nothing shows.
I tried one method that I found on the other forum to make one csv file of 1 kb with 1 row and 6 column (time OHLC volume), then import that file first, and after that to restart MT4 and import desired history file. But still without success.
I also tried direct history downloading from MT4 history center but there are just too many gaps in history.
If anyone can help, I would be grateful
