I run Win 7, this has a Admin account and several “standard” accounts.

My sys is set to ask for the Admin password to run a application.

Each time I run MT4 through a “standard” account. I am prompted for the Admin password.

I have gone through the “application” files and desktop shortcut and set these to run as “Admin”

However I am still being asked for the password.

Is there a definitive work around for this?

Don't install in \program files* on Vista/Win7 and forget all the above.

if you set your system to require an admin password before running an application it should require that password no matter if you install in program files or not, or if you set the application to run as admin or not. Run as admin does not mean run as admin while disabling the password requirement. So when your system asks for the admin password before running an app in a standard account it is doing exactly what you have it set up to do.

I understand the principle alright, I was always taught, to run a system as "stanard" user. As for security reasons running under Admin, can leave the system open. I thought I might be able to set an exception up for a specific programme ie MT4?
