My EA gives insignificant results. I'm using an 'icustom' function of an indicator. does this affect the EA optimisation or is there another eason?

You'll need to provide more information for someone to give a helpful response. Insignificant? In what way? iCustom is not the problem. Check your codes or strategy.

If your external variables effects the parameters of the indicator passed via iCustom then yes.
