I spoke with Alpari Uk (server is CET time) and they stated CET time is the same all year round.
The EA trades at a certain time.
Say for backtesting the time was 2am, then the trade time will always be 2am CET, winter or summer.
From this I assumed it was okay to backtest yearly rather than in chunks, aslong as the EA stays on 2am CET when traded live.
> CET time is the same all year round
Depends what you mean by 'same', see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_European_Time
Maybe they didn't quite get what you meant - as Alpari UK is indeed 'CET all year' but CET does clock-change relative to GMT
So again, if your strategy is relative to GMT (as many are), you will need to test in chunks or do some code...

I have been backtesting my EA with a GMT shift of +2 as Alpari is currently GMT+2
In the winter they will change to GMT+1.
Would I need to change the GMT shift to +1 then, or keep it as it is?
I am confused as to if the results when backtesting during GMT+1 time would be the same as testing now with a GMT+2 or if the GMT shift should always be kept to +2.
