Broker Location and Contact
AFAIK Metaquotes provides the MT4 platform/software, but are not a broker themselves
To open a real account, you need to contact a broker & then point MT4 at the broker site. This pointing is done automatically (usually) if you download MT4 from the broker.
As to which broker? I use a UK one, and wouldn't want to be seen promoting a specific broker anyway.
There are many reputable brokers (or so I've been told) but also some dodgy ones (and some outright crooks).
Pick a regulated one (not just registered), in a jurisdiction that you trust; I realise that US citizens are somewhat restricted in their choice.
