use my own language

can't I use my own language and programs to analyze the data ?

I just need a command or subroutine that sends an order from within my program

And a stream that permanently, automatically downloads data and appends it to a file

that can be read by my program.

Is it possible ? Which broker supports it

Hi uevst3e,

I've been wondering the same thing myself forawhile. Two possibilities that I've run into are:

http://www.mbtrading.com -- click on the "Developers" tab and explore a bit. MbTrading is an ECN broker. If you want to open a real trading account, the best way to go is via TradersChoiceFx, an introducing broker.

http://www.oanda.com - They have an API available, but the access price is fairly expensive (at least to me, your financial situation may be different). You may be able to post something to the online forums offering to barter programming services for the opportunity to use the API access license to develop your own programs.

If you run into any others, or get some firsthand experience with either of the ones I mention here, I'd appreciate hearing about it. Drop me a line.

good ! Are there others, have you run into more such wondering-people ?

I just started to explore this more deeply recently (<2months),

just found this forum. Let's found a club of wonderers.

: Developers
: MB Trading gives developers a range of tools to combine their products with our award-winning
: execution and order management systems. Whether you want a simple API or a more complex
: industry-standard FIX connection, we will work to help you attach your charting solutions,
: trading systems, black boxes, and front-end pieces to our back office system.
: Our API and FIX support teams will work with you from start to finish on establishing the
: connections that you need to integrate your product into our systems.
sounds good ... and complicated.
Why do I need API and FIX support teams when I just want an integrated
command in my C-compiler that sends an order ?
Or an executable that can be called, where the trading product, account,
password(time dependent), limit is specified as commandline parameter
> MbTrading is an ECN broker

yes, my favourite so far is just2trade, lowest fees, allowing foreigner accounts,

They annonced some program trading platform for the next months,
successtrade.com, I don't know details
only forex
: The world's most reliable foreign exchange data
: OANDA uses innovative computer and financial technology to provide Internet-based
: forex trading and currency information services to everyone, from individuals to large
: corporations, from portfolio managers to financial institutions. OANDA is a market
: maker and a trusted source for currency data. It has access to one of the world's
: largest historical, high frequency, filtered currency databases.
> API
(yes, I had to look it up)
on their webpage I didn't find anything about program-trading support
maybe I can check again more deeply later
