I downloaded M1 historical data using the history center in MT4 but getting dozes of errors like this during backtesting:
2009.03.28 12:01:37 TestGenerator: unmatched data error (low value 1.2565 at 2008.11.24 09:00 and price 1.2563 mismatched)
Also, the report shows "n/a" for the modelling quality.
I googled the subject and found that these errors show up when some data is mismatched. How reliable a backtesting can be if there is no good data to backtest against? Apparently, one cannot reliably use data from the history center.
Where can I get reliable and accurate M1 historical data for MT4?
Also, why do I need to open an account in MT4 in order to download historical data? I'm not downloading from a demo broker. I have a few MT4 instances running, one for backtesting, one for development, and another for demo trading.
Thanks,
Lukasz
I created this article awhile back. Shows how to get excellent modeling in MT4.

Hi,
I was also looking for historical data and I've found this folks: http://www.histdata.com .
The guy's have FREE historical data for 66 pairs in both M1 and Tick data for several platforms. Anyone tested their data?
Thanks for the help. This forum Rocks!!
Cheers, mates!
If you download the M1 data to use with MT4 and it has no volume info you are going to have problems . . . MT4 uses the volume info to synthesis the ticks, more volume = more ticks, less volume = fewer ticks.
