US oil production data from the EIA
Oil production fell to 9.129 mbpd from 9.180 mbpd in February, according to the EIA. That's 51,000 bpd decline, or 0.6%. Compared to a year earlier, production is down 3.4%.
The numbers are laggy compared to the weekly data, also produced by the EIA. It showed US production at 8.938 mbpd last week.
Perhaps the value in the latest report is that it breaks down production by state and region. It shows Texas production down 4.0% y/y, North Dakota down 4.6% and Gulf of Mexico production up 6.4%
