Google SMPT works perfectly, but they regard MT4 as a less secure app.
In MT4, go to Options > Email and input the details of your email address exactly as below:
SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com:465

SMTP password: Your Gmail password
From: yourgmailaccount@gmail.com
