Hidden Secret is an EA for the hugely popular BTCUSD pair that employs the Hidden Markov Model (HMM) as its main algorithm to make trades. Since HMM is a real gem that is rarely used, you might be wondering how exactly this concept works. Well, the easiest explanation is as follows: The Hidden Markov Model is a probabilistic model which is used to explain or derive the characteristic and exact nature of hidden processes in the market that are not easily evident to the trader, in order to come to a sensible conclusion as to what is actually driving the price. This is of tremendous benefit to the trader because cryptocurrencies are very unusual in the sense that their value is mainly driven by unknowns, or "hidden" factors.
HMM works by using only two convenient variables to make a trade: X and Y, where X is the hidden factor influencing the price and Y is the observable process that depends on X. Now, since X cannot be observed directly (remember, it is hidden), the EA's goal is to understand X by observing Y. This possibility can lead to a massive increase in the statistical probability that your trades fulfill your profit targets!
