used to read up on technical analysis by some famous author and implement their system.

All failed backtest and had stop reading their books...

 

So none for me

It might not be directly aimed at the FX market, but 'Technical Analysis' by Kirkpatrick is quite a good technical analysis resource. I bought it a few years ago, and I think it's worth a read. See link:

Books By Howard Bandy including "Quantitative Trading Systems" really got me interested in automated systems. These books are aimed at Amibroker users, but most of the concepts covered, can be translated into mql4/5. 

PS. I agree with Doshur, I also had trouble replicating the returns in testing. Most of the strategies I read about seem to fall over sooner or later. Bandy, however, makes a good point of recognising when a system is broken.

There are so many books about forex but non of them can help you understand forex deeply. I will advice you to develop your own trading strategy and start practicing them till you will have more confidence.
