Some Demo EAs work great but don't take profits

Hi and apologies if this question has been posted before and if I come across as a total newbie (which I am:) 

I've been trying out a few EAs in backtesting with mixed results. There are a few however that seem to be making consistent profits on several currency pairs. 

 What I dont understand though is why none of these are taking profits in order to build the Balance and rather they allow trades to run until eventually they go back into minus with huge margins?

Not sure if this is a limitation of the backtesting process or I am doing something wrong when testing but I haven't seen one demo EA take profits yet.  

Would be great if someone could shed some light on this :)

May be most of EAs you are using are Martingale / Grid / Averaging type EAs which (most of them) have no Stop loss.

They accumulate open orders and loos and not manage those orders well.
