VPS near trading server

what are the advantages that my VPS is near the trading server?

will I get more ticks?

I only know that execution speed will be better. What else?

Read but does not address my concern on how latency affects trade operations/execution 

Do I get more ticks than a slower internet connection? 

If I get more ticks I have a higher chance of hitting my tp

alright, my vps is having around 300ms ping to the server and execution are around 800 to 1200ms

is this going to affect my trades badly? 

 

I have VPS at the same provider where broker has it's server(s).

Ping time is 1ms.

300 ms is very high.

i just move my server to somewhere near the trading server and the ping is below 10ms

however my execution is around 700ms
