Are there any plans to make MT4 Vista compliant?
I know MT4 can run in Vista, but not before making some trick and tweaks and grantting Administrator access, which is not quite right.
The present version of MT4 writes history, configuration and other data in folders placed in Program Files
Also, the expert advisors have to be placed in a folder within Program Files.
Because of this, MT4 has to Run as Administrator and some folders attributes have to be modified to remove the Read Only setting.
Vista requires that all data and config files to be placed in other places like Program Data, Application Data or similar that contain only data and no executables..
Windows 7 is just around the corner and the problems will continue (or may be worse).
I'll appreciate any feedback and info about this.
