visual studio

I do not have visual studio I am just now looking at MT5. I see that the backtester is seperate and the results are passed back to the MT5 app. I seems to me that possibly the integration with Visual Studio is quite good. ie. seperated out and made to work together. Good inteface, good architecture...... Can someone help out and tell me how integrated backtesting and Visual Studio can be? Perhaps a different IDE is possible too???? Are you getting all watch windows working, can you "edit and continue", are breakpoints working, are you getting step from bar 1 right to the end????????
