Who has the following package: Windows 7 x64 and MetaTrader 4 terminal? - page 3

Karputov Vladimir:

I have the following question: if from the terminal go to "Data Folder" (this folder is in AppData)/MQL4/Experts/ and create there a new folder "New Folder" and insert the compiled (*.ex4) EA file into this new folder, the terminal does not see this new folder or this EA file.

By the way, check if the specified file exists in the folder. Probably, after copying it is deleted by some third-party process (e.g., antivirus).

Also, I remember that the terminal deleted those ex4, which were not or were compiled in later version.

Karputov Vladimir:
Can you try my file- will it be seen?
like in the anecdote see see.... etc.

Tried everything like you said. Before restarting the terminal, can't see it.

Restarting the terminal doesn't help, restarting the operating system doesn't help. That said, the following detail has come up:

In this unfortunate MT4 terminal in Win 7, in the folder C:\Users\***AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\*****\MQL4\Experts there are EAs that come with it - MACD and another one. Well, if you create a new folder in *****\MQL4/Experts and copy MACD.ex4 (that is included in the delivery package), the terminal sees both the new folder and MACD.ex4 file there.

Everything is working fine. Yesterday I checked it several times following your description.

All the folders and files are well seen. You just think that MT4 is unfortunate and it doesn't want to work with you.

All the folders and files show up fine. It's just that you think MT4 is "unfortunate" -- and in retaliation -- it doesn't want to work with you.

Do you have Windows 7 x64?

Yes. Wrote above:"Checked everything several times yesterday exactly as you described"

I need a direct answer:

as your comments above are not in the thread.

No. The file stays. Moreover, this file and folder are visible in MetaEditor (which runs from the terminal). But in the terminal itself this folder and file (compiled in 1351, in Windows 10 pro) is not visible.
